Many of the chronic diseases prevalent today are lifestyle and stress-related. Naturopathic care brings attention to these foundational aspects of wellness and empowers you to make changes toward a healthier life and overall balance.
In this appointment, you will be given ample time to be seen and heard as a whole-person, not just a diagnosis. This is your time to talk about how you are feeling not only physically, but also mentally and emotionally. Like a health detective, Dr. Karen listens deeply to your personal story for clues to the various factors that may have lead to a decline in health. Details of your health history, eating habits, sleep patterns, physical activity, and sources of stress will be explored. With a careful understanding of the whole picture of your health, Dr. Karen will work with you to develop a customized therapeutic plan and to begin healthy lifestyle changes.
Functional lab tests may be recommended to detect underlying imbalances. The goal is to identify and help heal the root causes of illness, not only the symptoms, so that you can achieve true health.
Your first visit is comprehensive and will last up to an hour and a half. Not all health concerns will be resolved in just one visit. Expect some follow up visits and an ongoing care plan to achieve and maintain your health goals.
Note: Naturopathic Medicine does not replace or serve as primary care in the state of Wisconsin.
